Baltimore is an exciting place to be this weekend. Between the Orioles forcing a game five against the Yankees tonight in the ALDS (the game’s in NY) and the Baltimore Running Festival tomorrow, I have a feeling there’s going to be an electric atmosphere in Charm City this weekend.

And to make things even better, my family’s coming to town to run.
My mom and I are doing the half marathon again. This has become somewhat of a tradition for us. Baltimore was my very first marathon back when I was still in college, and it was also my mom’s first half marathon.
Two years ago we came back and both did the half. I wasn’t running hard that year and I still managed to conquer the insanely hilly course only a minute or so off my PR at the time.
I’m sure our third go-round will be just as Charming (see what I did there….Charming….Charm City…yup it’s awful, feel free to laugh.)
My dad, aunt and several of my cousins are joining us to run the 5K.
My aunt Marybeth, and cousins Kenny, Nikki and Laura who are all running this weekend.
My dad ran his first 5K back in May at home in PA, and I was bummed I wasn’t there to get to watch him and cheer him on. So I’m super excited that I’m going to be able to watch and cheer on all the 5K runners tomorrow.
So BUCKle up! It’s going to be a great weekend in Baltimore.
