Getting back out there
So Friday I went out for a test run. Only about a half an hour. I went really slow probably only covered about 2 miles, maybe a little more. I wasn't really keeping track of time or distance or anything, I was more trying to be sure everything was in working order.
My knee felt pretty good throughout the whole thing. I didn't notice any substantial problems. I took Saturday off because I didn't want to push my luck. And today I just got back from an hour long swim. Everything's feeling pretty good. I didn't lose too much of my endurance (or well so far it doesn't seem like it) so I think I'm going to pick my training back up tomorrow. I'm going to have to back up in the training schedule a little bit, but I don't think it will cause too much of a problem. At least I hope not. Maybe I'm just being overly optimistic now because I was so pessimistic in my last post.
But I'm hoping from here until October 14, everything will work properly. No more freak injuries and sicknesses.
YAY for being able to run again! **crossing my fingers and hoping tomorrow goes as well as Friday**

I'm doing Detroit on October 29, which I guess is 2 weeks after yours, assuming that the October 14 in your post is referring to the marathon. But yea, don't fret, there's still a bunch of time before it comes around. You're probably like me and getting those first marathon jitters already :) I guess my advice to you is don't try to rush back into training if something still hurts, I learned that the hard way last weekend. Most of all, just stay positive about all of it!
ReplyDeletep.s. Where do you go to school? I'm up at Michigan State.
