Droughts make for good running condition...
...the serious downpour you get as a result of months of no rain...not so much.
So needless to say, I haven't run since my 10-miler on Friday. Saturday is a play it by ear day and my legs were way to tired even for cross training. Sunday is a rest day.
Which brings us to Monday. I was supposed to have a short run, but when my alarm went off at six it was still dark outside because it was overcast and about to rain. I was working on kind of a crunched schedule because I had to stop at the Dept. of Transportation to pick up my parking permit before I drove home. So I figured okay no morning run, I'll run when I'm back in PA.
Well then the rains came. And it's been raining nonstop ever since.
It's supposed to clear up tonight. I'm crossing my fingers so I can get something in tomorrow before I head back to Md.

Sometimes that happens. You'll make it up somewhere or sometime.
ReplyDeleteNICE BLOG.
ReplyDeleteIt's been so gloomy, and pretty much rainy, drizzly, sprinkling, downpouring, for the last five days here. Plus, it's been in the 60's as well. I am not complaining really, but I was thinking if it was 30 degrees cooler, that crap coming down would be snow! AHH!!
ReplyDeleteMother Nature is a jerk sometimes, huh?
ReplyDeleteYea I'm happy things are going well too! The half is in Lansing/East Lansing on Sept 30, so still over a month away but I know time will fly.
And heck yea I'm ready for football season to start! I'm really excited to see how we do this season with the new coach (Dantonio). Oh and I'm helping out with the band this year, and we're traveling down to South Bend as always, so I'll get to step on the field for the third time ;) (We traveled there when I was a soph and a senior)
Don't sweat it!! I agree with Jess, you'll make it up some other time ;D or in a different way :P
ReplyDeleteHope you get mother nature to corporate.
ReplyDeleteHang in there. That's why I have made use of the treadmill lately.
ReplyDeleteOh boy...I would love some rain but not that much! Hope it cleared up by now!
