Life is interfering with training
I've been having a stressful two weeks lately and so I apologize for my absence. Training last week was less than fun, but I muddled through it and managed to survive. In the middle of training I found out one of my coworkers had accepted a new job and so we're all doing the who's-going-to-be-taking-over-what shuffle. And I'm sad to see her go.
So things have been kind of nuts.
In workout news, last week when I was in training, absolutely none happened, unless you count the 15 minutes of ab work I did on Monday when I had the motivation and was still trying to make the effort to get something in.
I got back to it this week though. I attempted to do my speed work Tuesday night, but I'm not really sure one could call what 6 miles that I did any form of speed work. I had planned on doing intervals, but my legs were having none of it. So then I figured I'd do a tempo run, but my legs weren't so keen on that either. So I did 6 miles of alternating speeds on the dreadmill, trying to push it when I could.
Last night I taught yoga. I thought it was a crappy class because mentally, I was not there. I was so seriously distracted thinking about other stuff that I've got going on. In fact at the end of June, I'm actually going to be dropping one of my yoga classes because I've just got a little too much on my plate right now.
Last night I was determined to drop both of them at least for the rest of the summer, but I think I've reconsidered and I'll keep one of them through July and then re-evaluate. I may be writing a little less regularly over the next few days and weeks, but I'll keep trying to stay caught up with you guys, although my comments may be a little less frequent. I'm not however going to be taking a blogging sabbatical like soooome people.
Anyway, just wanted to check in and let you know I'm back on the training wagon. I'd love to get some outside runs in if the rain would go away. Seriously, I think it's been raining for like two weeks straight.

Hang in there. Life has a way of doing that (interfering) but usually things calm down after awhile. :-)
ReplyDeleteI hope you can keep up with life! Sometimes things get busy, so take a break now and then. I like that you're not jumping off the yoga ship, but just changing gears and re-evaluating later. Hopefully everything at work smooths out soon!
ReplyDeleteSoemtimes things get busy and it's tough to fit in the workouts, but I'm sure you'll find a way to work it all in.
ReplyDeleteThe sabbatical was refreshing. I do not regret it. I do regret posting a photo of a llama for so long however because, as I've said many times, llamas suck.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy some down time!
R&R is good for the soul.. and the feets.
ReplyDeleteLife tends to happen and get in the way of our plans :) Sometimes a little break is all that is needed to recharge and get back at it!
ReplyDeleteHope things get better for you, sister!
ReplyDeleteSummer is always SO busy hey! I've been feeling like life is getting in the way of blogging and training for me lately too, but that's what life does, it gets in the way of things :-) Hope everything sorts itself out at work soon!!
ReplyDeleteHang in there chica! Life has a way of evening out....
ReplyDeleteTake the time you need, your body will thank you for it later.

ReplyDeletehate when life (*cough* work *cough*) gets in the way of running/life. hang in there and take care of your biggest priorities first! we'll probably all still be here when things settle back down. :)
Finding a balance in life is so important... and so difficult. Good luck with the juggle.
